To explore the root cause of her work addiction and to escape from herself, visual artist Karina Beumer posts an extraordinary job vacancy: She is looking for someone to replace herself.
Applications pour in, all with varying motivations. One applicant without papers and therefore no work permit sees taking up Karina's identity as a chance to literally and figuratively occupy space, to finally open a bank account, rent a house, be allowed to participate in society. Another applicant has been unemployed for 10 years because she is seen as too old. And yet another wants to take risks, not for herself, but on behalf of someone else.
Wouldn't the applicants make better use of Karina’s space than she can?
